FRAGILE, a band formed from a band organization called RHYTHMOS, a band organization for music enthusiasts based at LYCEUM-NORTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, Dagupan City, Pangasinan. All band members came from different bands inside the organization. At first, three of them were playing acoustic gigs on various cafes without their drummer yet and have lady vocalists. They had their first appearance playing as a complete band during the opening of one of the hotels in Manaoag, Pangasinan invited them to be one of the guest bands and were yet named twisted fate. After the gig in Manaoag, their lady vocalist desided to join another band and “Atoy” stepped-in as the new lead vocalist. The band now turned from an acoustic serenading band to a more dynamic rock and roll band and started participating on various competitions. Their first battle of the bands was during the town fiesta of San Fabian, Pangasinan. On the way to the venue, they were thinking to change their name. One of the members, the drummer specifically, noticed that all of the cases and bags of their instruments have a sticker of “fragile” and he joked to have fragile as their new name. every one just laughed but when they arrived at the venue, they haven’t thought yet of a new name so they decided to use “fragile” as their name and at the end bagged a 2nd runner-up trophy. That was only the beginning of series of winnings from various Battle of the Bands held all over Pangasinan.
The band also played as front-acts on several gigs and major concerts with the likes of Bamboo, 6Cycleminds and others. They just recently participated to the semi-finals of the Nescafe Soundskool inter-collegiate Battle of the Bands and their lead vocalist “ATOY” managed to be one of the eleven finalists of the COLT45ROCKISTA search on MTV.
