Member Feedback from Houston Texas

Man you really brighten my day and thank you a million times for giving me a chance to listen again to the radios that you hosted.I was amazed for your prompt action. You’re great, no wonder your company is growing and growing because you personally monitored and take action for all your visitors woes.

This is the only way where I can be updated with the current events in our country. I’m presently residing here in Spring, Texas USA (Houston Metropolis) and because of your webcast portal as if I’m just a block away from most radio stations in Metro-Manila. I hope someday you can visit us here in Houston so that we can personally thank you for sharing us the webcasts from your web portals. Thanks and best regards. — Ding Tajonera

Chipmunk, 33rpm sound?

I have received numerous valuable feedback about the sound quality of our streams. I suspect this is due to bandwidth congestion on the internet, brought about by the recent Taiwan earthquake. Latest news indicate that the repair is going to be delayed by another week.

Since we do have several servers (locations) that you can choose from, i suggest that you try to connect to different servers and find the one that is closest to you, or the one that gives you a better audio quality.

The list of the radio stations with different relay servers (digitel, infocom, globe, bayantel, eastern and USbased) are found in www.dagupan.com/radio. Do let us know which one works best for you, okay?

PINOY RHYTHMS isn’t just about music to its creators; it’s a breathe of fresh air to Filipinos especially those that have settled in other parts of the world. Unfortunately, for Filipinos abroad, there’s limited access to Filipino music daily except for a few internet radios and CDs they might have brought along.

After a few hours at the think tank, it was there that we got inspired with the idea of a ready source of Filipino music that would be easily accessible for everyone. And how else to achieve that - but to use the worldwide web to reach people globally. Hence, Pinoy Rhythms was created.

We wanted to give the Filipinos all over the world a format that they would enjoy listening to and would make them feel as close to the Philippines as possible, even just in spirit. We will strive to bring laughter and joy to the hearts of Filipinos away from home. Our programming will highlight the best Filipino music, current news, cultural info, light humor and entertainment for the entire family.

When you listen to OPM (original Pilipino music), it’s you who feels every mood, every sentiment, it’s you who remembers the memories related to the song. It’s you who feels every word, every bit of emotion that the singer tries to convey. That’s why music is so vital to Filipinos – it’s more than just songs, it’s a way of life.

At the same token, since we believe that people from all walks of life, not limited to only Filipinos, would come across the site, we decided to use it to share to the world our rich culture but not limited to our delectable cuisine, beautiful travel spots, history that’s a unique blend of East and West, and age-old traditions.

Please Support Mangatarem Rondalla

Aniweng na Kwerdas

Mr Rey Ayento sent in this email:

“I hope you can find ways to help our group raise funds to complete our instruments. God Bless you and your family Sir.”
Mangatarem National High School (MNHS) has always been a haven of musical ensembles.  In the 1970s, there was the MNHS Rondalla composed of talented students under the leadership of then principal, Mr. Andres Seril.  The 1980s proved to be a musically-filled decade through the MNHS Faculty Band that conquered Pangasinan and some parts of Luzon with their beautiful combo music that catered to both young and old alike.  This was under the management of Mrs. Juliana B. Laoag.

Today, MNHS boasts of “Aniweng na Kwerdas” the newly formed Rondalla composed of students of the Special Program in the Arts who are inclined to playing stringed instruments.  Under the direction of a multi-talented music master, Mr. Reynan N. Ayento, this musical ensemble is a collaborative effort of handful creative musical enthusiasts among the faculty members and generous spirits who upholds the joy the music brings.

Notwithstanding, its lack of instruments, for example, laud, octavina, bajo de arco and drum set, the group engages into different performances as it hopes to bring back the discriminating musical inclination and love for playing stringed instruments of the townspeople of Mangatarem.  It also aspires to grow and be renowned as it showcases the incomparable music and culture of the Province of Pangasinan.

The MNHS Rondalla then is up to spreading cheer and happiness through its beautiful music.
