Tensyon sa Makati the Eradportal Coverage

Brig. Gen. Danilo Lim and Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV walked out of a Makati City courtroom and urged Mrs. Arroyo to resign and called on the military to turn against her. The group of Trillanes and Lim marched to Peninsula with about 50 people, including armed men in military uniforms who wore the Magdalo insignia on their arms. Former Vice President Teofisto Guingona Jr, a staunch critic of President Arroyo, and Argee Guevarra, lawyer for the Laban ng Masa group, also marched with the soldiers. Novaliches Bishop Antonio Tobias, Infanta Bishop Emeritus Julio Labayen as well as Fr. Robert Reyes also went there to join Lim and Trillanes.
At around 3 p.m. Dir. Geary Barias gave Trillanes and Lim to surrender. Police has earlier ordered guests and hotel personnel to evacuate the building in case the serving of the arrest warrants become “harsh.” But Trillanes and Lim rejected Barias’ offer for them to surrender peacefully.
And as of 4:00 p.m. Shots were fired as fully armed pro-government troops began their assault on the Manila Peninsula Hotel.
